YWAM Deaf World is a 501(c)(3), tax exempt, non-profit, international, charitable organization. We are a part of the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) movement (www.ywam.org). Our focus is on seeing the Deaf Community around the world reached with the great news of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

 

Much of our actions are focused to unite the Christian Deaf community together to see full-time missionaries and short-term teams sent around the world with the message of a hope coming from a personal revelation and knowledge of Jesus. One way we accomplish this is by developing connections, and relationships through the hosting of worship and prayer gatherings or simply through organizing a community meal together. We also provide spiritual growth through teaching the Bible in visual and interesting ways using Sign Language. When possible we also provide financial support to help low income Deaf churches and communities to have access to training and learning opportunities that would normally be beyond their reach. We also create and distribute Biblical video resources specifically designed to reach the Deaf. Additionally we host live, in-person, seminars, retreats, and workshops to provide training to Biblically based Deaf missionaries and leaders around the world.

 

Some of the specific activities of the organization include: Hosting retreats and leadership training seminars for Deaf missionaries, organizing and leading Deaf Churches on missions trips to foreign nations, Biblical teaching in Churches and schools, networking and connecting global Deaf ministries together, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) conference interpreting and providing access for Deaf engagement, creating and distributing Biblical resources for Deaf ministries.
